Design your own dream "cleanup" tone
For guitarists who love Fuzz Face-style pedals, the biggest draw is probably the clean, bell-like tone you get by rolling back the guitar's volume.
But that tone depends heavily on your amp, your guitar, and even unit-to-unit variance, making the "ideal clean" hard to find.
Vin-Antique UFO'84 was built to let you freely design that fuzz clean tone yourself.
Beyond vintage, through relentless part selection
At the heart of UFO'84 are rare Russian germanium transistors, sourced by founder Miyazaki, who claims to have bought up more of them in Japan than anyone. Germanium fuzz is extremely sensitive to temperature and unit variance, so Vin-Antique measures each one individually and selects only the most musical combinations.
The output stage deliberately uses an electrolytic capacitor with a rough frequency response — not what you'd call high-performance by audio standards. This keeps the sound from becoming too clean and tame, prioritizing character and an assertive presence when you play. This theory-defying part selection is the foundation for a rich, musical drive that's never harsh on the ears.
A mystery knob, "?", for adjustment like no other
What sets UFO'84 decisively apart from other Fuzz Face-style pedals is the "?" knob at its center.
Until now, fuzz pedals never let you choose the sound you get rolling back the volume. Turn this knob, though, and you can dial in the brightness and thickness of your clean tone to match your own gear.
"This guitar needs a bit more sparkle." "This amp makes it sound a little thin." One knob solves both.
The luxury of chasing your own right answer
UFO'84 isn't a pedal that's finished the moment you plug it in.
It's a deeply creative tool — one where the process itself, of working with your guitar's volume and exploring your own clean tone through the "?" knob, is part of the enjoyment.
The freedom to let the best clean and the best drive coexist, tuned to your own system, is a privilege unique to UFO'84 that no other fuzz pedal can replace.
For players who want to build "their own right answer" with their own hands — this is the pedal for you.

Built on the sound of the legendary vintage fuzz that so many pedal fans dream of, it thoroughly resolves the "hard to handle" side that trips people up in modern live and studio settings. This is a pedal for reaching that jewel-like, ultra-clean tone when you roll back your guitar's volume. A pedal for people who think fuzz isn't for them — this is the one to try.
Control
-
Gain: Adjusts the amount of drive. Unlike a normal drive pedal, it feels like operating your guitar's own volume knob. Start from max and back it off a little — it clears up muddiness on humbucker guitars, pairs better with a wah pedal, and solves the little frustrations you run into on stage.
-
Vol.: Adjusts the overall volume. Around 10 to 12 o'clock matches bypass level, but try pushing it further and enjoy the feel of driving your amp harder.
-
?: A knob unique to UFO '84. It fine-tunes the amount of drive without changing its character. It also lets you brighten or settle the tone when you roll back your guitar's volume for a clean sound — dial in your own perfect clean.
